Submissions Open for the 10th Galway Cartoon Festival 2026
Ireland’s internationally recognized cartoon event, the Galway Cartoon Festival 2026, has officially opened submissions for its 10th edition, inviting cartoonists, caricaturists, illustrators, and visual satirists from around the world to participate.
Celebrating its milestone 10th anniversary, the festival organizers described the journey so far as “a wild and crazy ride” and announced that this year’s edition will embrace a freer and more open format. Unlike previous years, the 2026 edition will not feature categories or themed exhibitions. Instead, the festival promises “one great big show for cartoons of all kinds,” welcoming topical, political, satirical, surreal, absurd, and experimental works.
The festival will take place in Galway, Ireland, from 1–7 October 2026, bringing together artists and cartoon enthusiasts from across the globe.
Submission Details
The organizers emphasized that submissions are open to everyone, regardless of nationality or experience level, while also expressing a special interest in featuring works by women cartoonists and illustrators.
