The winner of the 18th International Snail Graphic Humor Contest, organized in Spain by the Federació de Colles de l’Aplec del Caragol de Lleida (Fecoll) in collaboration with Humoràlia and RACC Travel, has officially been announced.
The top prize of this year’s competition went to Jordi Huete from Lleida, Spain. His humorous and imaginative artwork earned him the contest’s prestigious award of €1,018, presented during the opening ceremony of the 45th Aplec del Caragol de Lleida, one of the region’s most celebrated cultural festivals.
The 2026 edition set a new participation record, attracting 375 cartoons from artists representing 41 countries. Cartoonists from Germany, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Colombia, Croatia, Cuba, Denmark, Egypt, Slovakia, Spain, the United States, Iraq, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Morocco, Mexico, Mongolia, Nigeria, Peru, Poland, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Syria, Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, China and several other countries submitted their works to the competition.
To celebrate the contest’s 18th anniversary, Fecoll has also announced a special exhibition scheduled for September 2026. The exhibition will feature winning cartoons from previous editions alongside a selection of outstanding works from this year’s competition, offering visitors a unique journey through nearly two decades of humorous art inspired by one of Lleida’s most iconic symbols: the snail.
The International Snail Graphic Humor Contest continues to strengthen its position as one of Europe’s distinctive humor art events, bringing together cartoonists from around the world and celebrating creativity through satire, wit, and graphic storytelling.
