A salon founded in 1981

The International Salon of Anti-War Cartoon was created in Kragujevac in 1981 in connection with the memory of the civilians killed there by German occupation forces on October 21, 1941.

The salon has since developed into an international exhibition and competition devoted to anti-war cartooning. Selected works have been shown beyond Kragujevac through the city’s international partnerships.

The 2025 edition was first presented at the 21 October Museum in Kragujevac, where the selected cartoons were exhibited and the awards were presented in October last year.

The Suresnes exhibition opened on September 8 with a public reception and remains on view through September 13.
