9th Alanya International Cartoon Competition: Call for Entries

Theme: “Living in a World with Artificial Intelligence”

The 9th Alanya International Cartoon Competition is set to take place in 2025, marking a revival after 17 years. Organized in collaboration with Alanya Municipality and the Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV), this competition invites cartoonists from around the globe to express their thoughts on the pressing theme of artificial intelligence and its impact on human interactions.

Theme Overview:

The competition’s theme, “Living in a World with Artificial Intelligence,” reflects the current societal shift towards technology and how it influences our lives. As we embrace smart devices and AI, feelings of loneliness in crowded spaces may arise, highlighting the paradox of connectivity and isolation in the digital age.

Competition Rules:

1. Eligibility: Open to all cartoonists worldwide.
2. Previous Publications: Submissions can be previously published but must not have won any awards in other competitions.
3. Submission Limit: Each artist may submit a maximum of three cartoons.
4. Cartoon Size: Maximum dimensions are 30×40 cm.
5. Submission Methods: Entries can be submitted via mail or digitally through the official website.

7. Digital Submission Specifications:
   • Size: A4
   • Resolution: 300 dpi
   • Format: JPEG
     The jury is not responsible for files that do not meet these specifications.
8. Required Information: Mail submissions must include a short CV with a photo, name, email, and phone number.
9. AI Restrictions: Cartoons generated by artificial intelligence will be disqualified.
10. Submission Deadline: All entries must be received or uploaded by April 1, 2025.
11. Jury Announcement: Results will be announced on April 8, 2025.
12. Prizes: Top three winners will receive cash prizes, flight tickets, and hotel stays in Alanya.
13. Exhibition: Selected cartoons will be exhibited at the Alanya Culture-Art and Tourism Festival from May 23-25, 2025.
14. Ownership and Rights: Submitted works may be used by ALTAV for cultural activities, with copyrights remaining with the artist.
15. Acceptance of Terms: Participation implies acceptance of the competition rules.

Awards:

• First Prize: 70,000 TL + Flight Ticket + Hotel Stay + Plaque + Certificate
• Second Prize: 50,000 TL + Flight Ticket + Hotel Stay + Plaque + Certificate
• Third Prize: 30,000 TL + Flight Ticket + Hotel Stay + Plaque + Certificate
• Special Awards: Various prizes in memory of esteemed individuals and organizations.
