Sharpen Your Pencils for the 29th International Cartoon Competition!
The legendary Bombura Sword (O Bomburovu šabľu 2026) is back! Organized in the heart of Slovakia, the 29th edition of this renowned international competition invites cartoonists, satirists, and humorists from around the globe to showcase their wit and artistic flair.
Whether you are a professional illustrator or a young budding artist, this is your chance to shine in one of Europe’s most authentic satire contests.
2026 Theme: HUNTING 🏹
This year, the jury is looking for clever, humorous, and satirical interpretations of “Hunting.” From traditional forest hunts to modern-day “headhunting” or even digital searches—let your imagination run wild!
Competition Rules & Categories
The competition is divided into two age-based categories:
- Junior Category: Up to 15 years of age.
- Senior Category: Over 15 years of age.
Submission Guidelines:
- Technique: Black and white, color, or any mixed media.
- Size: A4 paper.
- Quantity: Maximum of 5 works per author.
- Labeling: On the back of each work, please include:
- Title of the work
- Author’s full name, age, and occupation
- Phone number and email address
Prizes and Recognition 🏆
The jury will select winners who will receive the following:
Senior Category (Over 15):
- 🥇 1st Place: 500€
- 🥈 2nd Place: 300€
- 🥉 3rd Place: 100€
Junior Category (Up to 15):
- 🥇🥈🥉 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place: Material prizes.
Note: Selected works will be exhibited during the “Days of Brezno 2026” at the historic Synagogue in Brezno.
Important Dates & Deadlines
- Deadline for Submission: April 17, 2026 (Postmark date).
- Award Ceremony: May 28, 2026, at the Synagogue, Brezno, Slovakia.
