Call for Entries: II International Exhibition of Graphic Humor LEA – Athens 2025

The XVII LEA Festival is excited to announce the 2nd LEA International Exhibition of Graphic Humor, set to take place from June 10 to July 17, 2025, at the Cervantes Institute of Athens. This prestigious event invites cartoonists from around the world to showcase their work in an international cultural setting.

🎭 Theme: “The Book as a Reflection Between Cultures”

Books serve as bridges between civilizations, fostering cultural exchange and understanding. This year’s theme challenges artists to depict how books connect people, histories, and ideas across different cultures through humor and creativity.

📌 Participation Rules

🔹 Who Can Participate?

Artists over 18 years old from any country, regardless of nationality, religion, gender, or education.

🔹 Submission Guidelines:

✔ Only one artwork per participant

✔ Digital format: A4 size (21×29.5 cm), up to 300 dpi, JPEG format

✔ File size: Maximum 3MB (larger files will not be opened)

✔ File name format: name.surname.country.jpeg (e.g., john.doe.usa.jpeg)

✔ Must be an original work that has not been previously awarded

✔ Only hand-drawn illustrations (no mixed media with photography)

🏆 Prizes & Awards

🥇 1st Prize: A fully funded trip to Mexico to attend the International Book Fair of Guadalajara 2025 as part of the Encuentro Internacional de Caricatura e Historieta EICH at the University of Guadalajara.

🥈 2nd Prize: €500, sponsored by the Instituto Quevedo de las Artes del Humor (IQH), Spain.

🥉 3rd Prize: Diploma of recognition.

🎨 Exhibition & Catalog

🖼 Exhibition Dates: June 10 – July 17, 2025

📍 Location: Cervantes Institute of Athens, Greece

✔ Selected artworks will be displayed at the exhibition.

✔ All participants will receive access to a PDF catalog of the exhibition.

✔ The exhibition will travel to various locations in Greece, Latin America, and other regions.

📜 Important Notes

✅ The festival organizers reserve the right to use submitted works for promotional purposes without additional compensation.

✅ Entries that fail to meet the specified requirements will be disqualified.

✅ The jury will evaluate submissions based on artistic quality, thematic accuracy, and humor.

✅ If a submission is found to be plagiarized or in violation of copyright laws, the organizer has the right to revoke the award.

💬 About the LEA Festival

The LEA Festival is Greece’s leading literary and cultural event dedicated to Hellenic-Latin American literary exchange. Since its founding in 2008, the festival has expanded to various Greek cities, including Athens, Lefkada, Halkida, Nafplio, Thessaloniki, and Crete.
