Are you a cartoonist, caricaturist, or graphic artist looking for international exposure? The 8th Humor Salon of Pindamonhangaba (Brazil) has officially announced its 2026 call for entries. This year, the festival pays tribute to a living legend: Maurício de Sousa, the creator of Monica’s Gang (Turma da Mônica).
Whether you are a seasoned professional or a rising amateur, this is your chance to showcase your work in one of Brazil’s most traditional cultural hubs.
🎨 Themes & Categories
The 2026 edition is divided into two distinct categories. All entries must be submitted in A3 Vertical Format ($29.7 \times 42 \text{ cm}$) at 300 dpi.
- Category 1: Caricature – Maurício de Sousa
- Challenge: Capture the spirit and features of the founder of MSP Studios.
- Category 2: Cartoon – My Favorite Pet
- Challenge: A humorous take on our beloved animal companions.
📅 Important Deadlines
- Submission Period: February 16, 2026, to April 5, 2026.
- Results Announcement: April 30, 2026.
- Exhibition Dates: May 9 to June 14, 2026.
🏆 Awards and Recognition
The jury will select 100 works for the physical exhibition at the D. Pedro I and D. Leopoldina Historical Museum.
- Three Trophies per category.
- Special Award: One trophy for the “Best International Artist.”
- Certificates: All selected participants will receive a digital certificate.
