Join the Caminos de la Libertad International Caricature Contest 2026!
The Federació de Colles de l’Aplec del Caragol de Lleida (Fecoll), in collaboration with Humoràlia, has officially opened the call for the 2026 International Caricature Contest. This year, the competition invites artists from around the world to slow down and find humor in a very specific theme: The Snail.
Whether you are a professional cartoonist or a talented amateur, this is your opportunity to showcase your wit and creativity.
Competition Theme: The Snail
The snail is more than just a slow-moving creature; it is a symbol of patience, home, and nature. Participants are encouraged to interpret “The Snail” through comic strips, using any pictorial technique to bring their humorous ideas to life.
Key Rules & Requirements
- No AI Allowed: Unlike some modern contests, this competition strictly requires human-made art. AI-generated works will not be accepted.
- Format: Submissions must be A4 size (210 × 297 mm) or proportional.
- Language: Works can be wordless or include text in English, Spanish, or Catalan.
- Submission Limit: You may submit up to three original, unpublished works.
- Deadline: All entries must be sent via email to aplec@aplec.org by April 10th, 2026.
The Prize: Cash and a Trip to Spain
The winner of the 2026 edition will receive:
- €1,018 Cash Prize (subject to tax).
- A Trip to Lleida: A round-trip for two people to attend the award ceremony.
- Accommodation: Two nights in Lleida during the opening of the XLV Aplec del Caragol on May 22nd, 2026.
