Blog Post: Call for Entries: International Caricature Contest – Extemporamnia ’26 (Italy)
Attention all caricaturists and football fans! The road to the FIFA World Cup 2026 is not just being paved on the pitch, but also on the drawing board. Italy is hosting the Extemporamnia ’26 – Humour Section, an international caricature contest that invites artists from around the world to capture the spirit of football through satire and style.
The Theme: World Cup Legends in Action
The 2026 edition of this prestigious contest focuses on the FIFA World Cup. Participants are tasked with creating a caricature of an internationally renowned football player who has competed in at least one FIFA World Cup.
The challenge? The player must be portrayed in action and wearing their national team uniform. It is a perfect opportunity to showcase the dynamic movement and character of football’s greatest icons.
Traditional Artistry Only (No AI)
In an era of digital automation, Extemporamnia ’26 takes a firm stand: Works generated using artificial intelligence will not be accepted. The festival celebrates human creativity, hand-drawn techniques, and the unique “humour” that only a cartoonist’s mind can produce.
