24th International Satirical Picture Competition “Karpik” 2026 – Niemodlin, Poland
The Agnieszka Osiecka Cultural Centre in Niemodlin has officially announced the 24th edition of the International Satirical Picture Competition, “Karpik.” This long-standing Polish tradition invites professional and amateur artists from around the globe to showcase their satirical talent.
Competition Theme
The competition focuses on satirical and humorous depictions related to:
- Fish
- Fishermen
- Fishing (nets, rods, and maritime culture)
Participation Rules
- Eligibility: Open to all natural persons of legal age with full legal capacity, regardless of their country of residence.
- Submission Limit: Each participant may submit a maximum of 2 original works.
- Medium: Only original, freehand drawings are accepted.
- Format: The size of the works must not exceed A3 format.
- Authenticity: Entries must be the original work of the participant, holding full copyrights.
Technical Requirements and Labeling
Every entry must be clearly described on the reverse side with the following information:
- Date of completion.
- Author’s full name and address.
- Contact details (Phone number and e-mail address).
Prizes and Awards
The total prize pool is distributed as follows (all amounts are gross):
- Grand Prix: 2,800 PLN
- Three Main Prizes: 1,150 PLN each
- The Organizer may also grant additional distinctions or special awards at their discretion.
Submission Process and Deadline
- Deadline: Works must be received by the Organizer no later than September 30, 2026. The date of receipt by the organizer is what counts for eligibility.
- Address: Ośrodek Kultury w Niemodlin, ul. M. Reja 1, 49-100 Niemodlin, POLAND.
- Important: Please include the note “Karpik” on the envelope.
- Shipping: Works should be packaged securely to prevent damage. The author covers the shipping costs for the delivery and, in the case of winning, the costs of prize delivery if not collected in person.
Selection and Copyrights
Winners will be selected in the first half of October 2026 by a professional Jury. By submitting a work, the author grants the Organizer a non-exclusive license for promotional use, including websites, post-contest exhibitions, and catalogs. Ownership of the physical awarded drawings is transferred to the Organizer.
