52nd International Graphic Humor Competition: Umoristi a Marostica 2026 – Italy

The historic Umoristi a Marostica competition is back for its 52nd edition. Graphic artists, cartoonists, and illustrators from all over the globe are invited to interpret the new theme for 2026.

1. Theme and Participation Guidelines

  • Theme: HOPE
  • Concept: Works should reflect on humanity and modern society through a humorous lens.
  • Requirements: * No dialogue or text allowed.
    • Works must be unpublished (never published or submitted to other contests).
  • Maximum Submission: Each participant may submit up to 3 works (cartoons or strips).
  • Out of Competition: Artists may choose to participate “out of competition,” which excludes them from award eligibility.

2. Submission Methods and Deadlines

  • Deadline: February 28, 2026
  • Technical Specifications: * Format: JPEG, PNG, or GIF.
    • Resolution: 150 dpi (high quality).
    • File Size: Maximum 3 MB per file.

How to Enter:

  1. Online: Via the registration form on the official website.
  2. Postal Delivery: Send your artworks and the signed participation form to:Umoristi a Marostica – Biblioteca Civica – Via Cairoli, 3 – 36063 Marostica (VI) – ITALY

3. Original Artworks and Awards

Selected authors will be contacted via email to send their original artworks for the exhibition. Digital artists must provide a signed and numbered high-quality print.

  • “Premio Internazionale Scacchiera”
  • “Sandro Carlesso Special Prize”
  • “Marco Sartore Special Prize”
  • 10 “Umoristi a Marostica” Prizes

4. Exhibition and Regulations

  • Inauguration: May 9, 2026, in Marostica.
  • Exhibition Dates: May 9 – June 7, 2026.
  • Rights & Archive: Selected works will not be returned and will remain the property of the “Museo di Umorista a Marostica” Archive. The organizers reserve the right to reproduce works for promotional purposes with the credit “by Umoristi a Marostica.”

The results will be communicated to all participants by email and published on the official website: www.umoristiamarostica.it
