19th Vianden International Caricature Contest 2026

Are you ready to use your pen to highlight the essence of modern society? The Museum of Caricature and Cartoon of Vianden, in collaboration with “Les Amis du Château de Vianden” and “Naturpark OUR,” has officially announced the 19th International Caricature and Cartoon Contest 2026 in Luxembourg.

This year’s theme strikes at the heart of global discourse: Democracy.

The Theme: Democracy

Artists are invited to interpret the various pillars of democracy, including:

Popular sovereignty and free elections
The rule of law
Separation of powers
Pluralism and freedom of expression

Prize Pool

The contest offers significant recognition and financial rewards for the winners:

1st Prize: 1,500 €
2nd Prize: 1,000 €
3rd Prize: 500 €
Honorable Mentions: 3 certificates

Submission Guidelines & Deadlines

Deadline: 5 April 2026
Entries: Max 4 artworks per participant.
Format: Digital submissions via email to cartoon@caricature.eu.
Technical Specs: JPEG format, 300 DPI, max 1.5 MB per image.
Note: No subtitles or text allowed in the drawings.

Between 80 and 120 artworks will be selected for the official exhibition at the stunning Castle of Vianden from April 26 to May 26, 2026. If your work is selected, you will be featured in the official contest catalogue!
