34th International Festival of Satire and Humor “City of Trento” 2026: Official Call for Entries

Studio d’Arte Andromeda has officially announced the XXXIV International Festival of Satire and Humor “City of Trento”. This prestigious global competition invites artists to interpret this year’s provocative theme through the lens of satire, humor, and comics.

THEME: Optical Illusions

From the 17,000-year-old cave paintings of Lascaux to the modern complexities of quantum physics, the theme explores the boundary between appearance and reality. The festival challenges artists to examine how statistics can be manipulated, how politicians distort information, and how the media creates a “world of appearances.” Cartoonists are invited to use their “X-ray vision” to look between the lines and uncover the truth through the power of humor.

RULES & ELIGIBILITY

• Participants: The contest is open to Italian and international artists aged 16 and over.
• Originality: Artists take full responsibility for the originality of their work. Artworks must not have been awarded or selected in other contests.
• AI Prohibition: Artworks created with Artificial Intelligence (AI) are strictly prohibited. The Jury reserves the right to revoke any prize if an artwork is found to be AI-generated.
• Usage: By entering, authors grant the organization non-exclusive rights to print the artworks for promotional purposes, with mandatory attribution to the artist.

CATEGORIES

• Category A (Satire/Humor): Maximum of 3 artworks.
• Category B (Comics): Maximum of 3 artworks (each entry can consist of 1 or 2 pages).

PRIZES

Satire/Humor Category:

• 1st Prize: €1,000
• 2nd Prize: €500
• 3rd Prize: €300
• Alessandro Alfonsi Special Prize: €300 (In honor of the late studio member).

Comics Category:

• 1st Prize: €1,000

The jury will also select approximately 150 artworks for a physical exhibition and may award special mentions to worthy submissions.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

• Format: A4 or A3 (Vertical or Horizontal).
• File Specifications: JPG or TIFF format, minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
• Method: Entries must be sent via email to rassegnatrento@studioandromeda.net
• File Size: Emails must not exceed 5MB. For larger files, the use of www.wetransfer.com is required.
• Required Documents: Every artist must include the signed registration form attached to the official contest document.

DEADLINE

15th June 2026

EXHIBITION & CEREMONY

The Organization will print the selected artworks at its own expense for the final exhibition. The award ceremony and the exhibition will take place during the course of 2026 in Trento, Italy.
