35th International Festival of Humor & Satire “Golden Helmet” Opens Call for 2027 Edition
🇷🇸 One of the Balkans’ long-running satire and caricature events, the 35th International Festival of Humor & Satire “Golden Helmet”, has officially announced its international competition for 2027. Organized by the Cultural Center Kruševac in Serbia, the festival invites cartoonists, caricaturists, writers, poets, and satirists from around the world to participate.
The 2027 edition will be held under a Free Topic theme, allowing artists complete creative freedom in both visual and written satire categories.
Competition Categories
The festival accepts entries in two main categories:
1. Caricature
Artists may submit original caricatures created in any technique. Digital tools are also permitted during the creative process.
Technical Requirements:
- Minimum size: A4 (210 × 297 mm)
- Maximum size: A3 (297 × 420 mm)
- JPEG format
- 300 dpi resolution
- Maximum file size: 4 MB
The organizers note that selected authors will later be required to send the original artworks. Computer-generated caricatures must also be printed in A4 format, personally signed, and marked with “No1”.
2. Written Form
Participants may submit:
- Satirical short stories
- Poems
- Aphorisms
Written submissions are limited to:
- Maximum two typed pages
- Up to 20 aphorisms
All written works must be submitted under a code and sent by post in three copies.

🎖️ Special “Rade Brka” Award + €200
The festival emphasizes that only unpublished works will be considered.
Important Regulations
- Each participant may compete using only one code.
- A short biography, address, telephone number, and email address are mandatory.
- Official languages of the festival are Serbian and English.
- Submitted works remain the property of the festival archive.
- Organizers reserve the right to use submitted works for promotional purposes related to the festival.
The jury results are expected to be announced by March 1, 2027, while the awards ceremony will take place during the festival’s closing evening on April 1, 2027.
