Finalists Announced for the 33rd “Risto Pejatović” International Caricature Contest 2026

The organizers of the 33rd International Caricature Contest “Risto Pejatović” have officially completed the first phase of judging and announced the finalists who will advance to the final round of the 2026 competition.

Organized by the Public Institution Art Gallery “Vitomir Srbljanović” in Pljevlja and the Yugoslav Museum of Humor and Satire Department, the contest once again attracted significant international participation and confirmed its reputation as one of the region’s most respected caricature events.

This year’s edition was dedicated to the theme “Mining”, encouraging cartoonists to explore different aspects of one of humanity’s oldest and most demanding professions through satire, symbolism, and visual storytelling.

According to the organizers, the competition received 507 artworks submitted by 219 cartoonists from 46 countries. The submitted works were noted for their high artistic quality, thematic diversity, and strong satirical expression.

Following a detailed evaluation process, the expert jury selected 47 finalists whose works will be included in the official exhibition and published in the accompanying exhibition catalogue.

The jury consisted of Montenegrin caricaturist Darko Drljević, serving as President of the Jury, alongside renowned caricaturist Luka Lagator and visual artist Aleksandar Ostojić.

In accordance with the contest’s long-standing tradition, the names of the Grand Prix winner and the recipients of the Special Awards will remain confidential until the official opening ceremony of the exhibition, where the final results will be announced.

The organizers congratulated all artists who reached the final stage and thanked every participant whose contribution helped maintain the prestige of the 33rd edition of the “Risto Pejatović” International Caricature Contest.
