The organizers have officially announced the 5th CARTUNION Cartoon Contest 2026, an international competition celebrating the 20th anniversary of the CARTUNION cartoonists’ forum. This year’s contest invites cartoonists from around the world to submit works under the theme “Just Funny!”, with the goal of celebrating the universal power of laughter.
Unlike many competitions that focus on social or political issues, the organizers are looking for cartoons that are genuinely humorous and capable of making people laugh, regardless of the subject matter.
The competition is open to all cartoonists 18 years of age and older. Participants may submit up to three cartoons, provided they have not previously received awards in other competitions. Artificial intelligence-generated cartoons are not accepted, and all submitted works must be the original creations of the participating artists.
Entries must be prepared in A4 format (21 × 29.7 cm), saved as JPG, RGB color mode, 300 dpi, with a maximum file size of 3 MB. Submissions should be sent by email to justfunnycartoon@gmail.com. Artists are also required to include their contact information and a short biography, while following the specified file naming and email subject conventions.
The competition offers three cash prizes:
🥇 First Prize: US$700
🥈 Second Prize: US$500
🥉 Third Prize: US$300
In addition, ten selected cartoonists will receive Honor Diplomas in electronic format.
The submitted works will be evaluated by an international jury consisting of Vasiliy Alexandrov (Russia), Ilja Bereznickas (Lithuania), Mikhail Zlatkovsky (Russia), Andrey Feldshteyn (USA) and Ivaylo Tsvetkov (Bulgaria).
The contest is organized by the International Forum Cartunion, administered by Andrey Feldshteyn (USA). Selected cartoons will be published in an online catalogue, while a shortlist of nominees is expected to be presented before the final results are announced.
The deadline for submissions is 31 October 2026, and the winners are scheduled to be announced in November 2026.
