Piracicaba 2026 Jury Completes Awards Selection, Results Due August 29
The award jury of the 53rd International Humor Salon of Piracicaba has completed its work, with the winners to be announced on August 29.
The jury met at Engenho Central on August 22 to judge 385 works previously selected for the main exhibition.
Awards have been decided in the Cartoon, Editorial Cartoon, Caricature, Comic Strips/Comics, Sculpture, Health and Thematic categories. The jury has also chosen the Grand Prize winner.
This year’s special theme is AI x HI – The Duel of the Century: Algorithm vs. Soul, focusing on artificial intelligence and human creativity.
The award jury consists of Helô D’Angelo, Cecília Ramos (Cartumante), Carlos Ruas, Eduardo Galindo Flores of Mexico, Tute (Juan Matías Loiseau) of Argentina, André Hippertt and Paulo Branco.
A separate selection jury chose the 385 works for the exhibition in July. The award jury then met in August to determine the prize winners.
The names will remain under wraps until the opening and awards ceremony, scheduled for Saturday, August 29 at 7 p.m. at Teatro Erotides de Campos (Teatro do Engenho).
The main exhibition at Barracão 14 in Engenho Central will run from August 29 through November 1. Admission is free.
One award remains undecided: the Alceu Marozi Righetto Popular Jury Prize, which will be chosen separately by public vote.
