The Universidad Nacional de Colombia invites artists to participate in the 4th International Biennial of Graphic Humor “CartUNAL”. The competition details and regulations are as follows:
Theme: The kitchen as a political space.
Regulations and Requirements:
- Participation: Each artist may submit only one (1) original, unpublished work. Submission of multiple works will result in disqualification.
- Originality: Participants must complete a “Copyright” form declaring the work as their own and authorizing the Universidad Nacional de Colombia to use it for academic and promotional purposes related to the contest.
- Restrictions: Organizers, jury members, and their relatives are ineligible to compete. They may participate in a non-competing capacity by labeling their entry as “Participate without contest.”
- Format: Minimum size A4 (210 x 297 mm); maximum size A3 (297 x 420 mm).
- Prohibition of AI: Drawings created with artificial intelligence are strictly prohibited.
- Technique: Free (hand-drawn or digital), in color or black and white. Works must be graphically explicit without text, explanations, or photographic supports.
- Submissions: Works must be submitted in JPG format at 300 dpi via the provided link. Required information includes: title of work, author’s full name, nationality, email, photo, and a brief CV in English or Spanish.
- Deadline: July 31, 2026 (Colombia time zone).
Evaluation and Selection:
- Jury: Entries will be judged anonymously. Scoring is based on the universal concept and objectivity of the subject (70%) and technique (30%).
- Shortlist: Selected works will be published online for public review regarding copyright or similarities before the final award ceremony.
- Exhibition: The top 40 works will be printed and exhibited at the Efe Gómez Library, Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Medellín. A virtual PDF catalog will also be produced.
Prizes:
- 1st Place: 3,000,000 Colombian Pesos and an Honorable Mention.
- 2nd to 6th Place: Digital Honor Certifications.
- Note: The first-place winner is responsible for shipping the original (or a signed digital print) to the university. All banking fees and shipping costs for prizes are the responsibility of the winners.
