Love is in the Air: Call for Entries for the 6th International Cartoon Contest in Muğla!

Muğla Metropolitan Municipality has officially announced its 6th International Cartoon Contest. This year, the prestigious competition invites amateur and professional artists from around the globe to translate the world’s most powerful emotion into lines under the theme: “Love / Deep Love.”

As conflicts and unrest continue globally, this contest aims to highlight how “care, responsibility, respect, and empathy” can make the world a more livable place through the universal language of cartoons.

Theme: Love / Deep Love

The competition focuses on love in all its forms—love for humanity, nature, animals, and self. It challenges artists to depict how love serves as the foundation for peace and how its absence leads to global discord.

Competition Schedule

• Submission Deadline: Friday, May 22, 2026 (End of business)
• Jury Evaluation: Saturday, May 30, 2026
• Announcement of Results: Wednesday, June 3, 2026
• Award Ceremony: To be held at the Türkan Saylan Contemporary Life Center, Muğla.

Prizes (Total Prize Pool: 225,000 TL)

• First Prize: 70,000 TL
• Second Prize: 50,000 TL
• Third Prize: 30,000 TL
• Honorable Mention (3 winners): 15,000 TL each
• Under 18 Category (2 winners): 7,500 TL each
• Behiç Ak Special Award: 20,000 TL

Key Terms & Conditions

• No AI Art: Cartoons generated by Artificial Intelligence (AI) will not be accepted.
• Originality: Works must not have received an award in any previous national or international competition.
• Format: Digital entries must be in JPG format, 300 dpi, and sized between A4 (21 x 29.7 cm) and A3 (29.7 x 42 cm).
• Submission Limit: A maximum of 5 cartoons per participant.
• Biography: A short biography must be included with the submission.

The email subject should be: “Muğla Metropolitan Municipality 6th International Cartoon Competition” and must include the artist’s full name, city, and country.

The Selection Committee (Jury)

The jury features renowned masters of the cartoon world: Gürbüz Doğan Ekşioğlu, Şevket Yalaz, Sarkis Paçacı, Savaş Ünlü, Abdülkadir Uslu, Aşkın Ayrancıoğlu, Mehmet Selçuk, and Şeref Demirtaş.
