Calling all cartoonists and satirists! The Pro Castello di Caneva has officially announced the 13th edition of the International Contest Caneva Ride! for 2026. This year’s theme explores the ironic Italian proverb: “Si stava meglio quando si stava peggio”—or, “Things were better when they were worse.”
Whether it’s a nostalgic look at the past or a sharp critique of modern “progress,” the jury is looking for your most creative, humorous, and unpublished satirical works.
Contest Details & Requirements
• Theme: “Things were better when they were worse” (Humorous/Satirical).
• Who can enter: Global cartoonists aged 16 and over.
• Submission Deadline: June 14, 2026 (Midnight).
• Technique: Any technique (B&W or Color), maximum 3 unpublished works.
• Format: A4 size, 300 dpi (.jpg, .tiff, or .pdf), max 5MB per file.
Awards
The jury, presided over by the renowned Marco De Angelis, will select the winners for the following prizes:
1. First Prize: € 600.00
2. Second Prize: € 250.00
3. Third Prize: € 150.00
