Submission Deadline Extended for the 58th World Gallery of Cartoons Skopje 2026

The prestigious 58th World Gallery of Cartoons (WGC) Skopje 2026, organized by OSTEN in North Macedonia, has officially extended its submission deadline to 15 June 2026, offering cartoonists around the world additional time to participate in one of the longest-running international cartoon events. Established in 1969, the World Gallery of Cartoons is recognized as one of the oldest and most respected international cartoon exhibitions in the world. Organized annually in Skopje, the event brings together professional, semi-professional, and amateur cartoonists from across the globe, showcasing contemporary visual satire, cartoons, and comic art. Recently, OSTEN announced the deadline extension through its official channels and highlighted works by participating Uzbek cartoonist Muzaffer Yulchiboev, reflecting the international scope and artistic diversity of the exhibition. (Instagram)

How to Participate

Applicants must complete the official application form and submit it together with a short biography, photograph, and digital images of their works via email. In addition, printed, numbered, and signed versions of the submitted works must be sent by postal mail to the organizer’s address in Skopje. Each work must include the artist’s name, country, and title on the reverse side. (osten.mk)

Competition Schedule

The organization of the 58th World Gallery of Cartoons Skopje 2026 will take place in four phases:

• Application Phase – until 15 June 2026
• Selection and Publication of Selected Cartoonists – June 2026
• Jury Evaluation and Announcement of Finalists – July–August 2026
• Announcement of Awarded Cartoonists – September 2026

The official exhibition and award ceremony will be held in November–December 2026 in Skopje, North Macedonia. (osten.mk)

Awards

The competition offers several international awards, including:

• Grand Prix for Lifetime Achievement – $1,500 and Sculpture
• First Award – $1,000 and Plaque
• Second Award – $500 and Plaque
• Five Third Awards
• Five Special Awards
• CICO Award for a Macedonian Cartoonist

The CICO Award is presented in honor of the renowned Macedonian cartoonist Vasilije Popovic – Cico.

Selected and awarded works will be featured in the official catalog of the exhibition and presented during the final exhibition in Skopje. The event continues to serve as an important international platform for promoting contemporary cartoon art and visual satire. (Contest Watchers)
