The winners of the 33rd International Cartoon Award Competition “Risto Pejatović” have been announced following another highly successful international edition of the event.
This year’s competition was dedicated to the theme “Mining,” inviting cartoonists from around the world to examine the profession, working conditions, environmental concerns, and the wider impact of mining on contemporary society through humor, satire, and artistic expression.
The competition was co-funded by the Ministry of Culture and Media of Montenegro and supported by the Pljevlja Coal Mine, whose contribution helped make possible the organization of one of the region’s most significant international cartoon events.
The 33rd edition once again demonstrated the competition’s strong international reputation. A total of 507 works were submitted by 219 artists representing 46 countries.
The submitted works were evaluated by an international jury consisting of:
- Darko Drljević – President of the Jury
- Luka Lagator – Jury Member
- Aleksandar Ostojić – Jury Member
Following the evaluation process, the jury selected three artists for the main awards.

The organizers thanked all participating cartoonists for contributing their work to the competition and warmly congratulated the winners of this year’s edition.
Through its international participation and socially relevant theme, the “Risto Pejatović” competition continues to provide an important platform for cartoonists to address contemporary issues through the universal language of humor and satire.
