AMASYA MUNICIPALITY 11th INTERNATIONAL CARTOON COMPETITION 2026

Amasya Municipality has officially announced the regulations for its 11th International Cartoon Competition. This year, the competition invites world-class cartoonists to explore the soul of the “City of Princes” under the theme: “DRAW AMASYA – INTERPRET”.

SECTION ONE: THEME AND OBJECTIVE

Amasya, a meeting point of diverse cultures along the Yeşilırmak River, continues to inspire artists with its ancient streets and deeply rooted human stories.

The competition aims to reinterpret the city’s historical, cultural, and natural richness—from its traditional Ottoman houses to its vibrant urban life—through the universal language of caricature. Artists are encouraged to reflect on Amasya’s past, present, or even imagine its future with a humorous and creative approach.

SECTION TWO: ELIGIBILITY AND REQUIREMENTS

1. The competition is open to all amateur and professional cartoonists worldwide.
2. Each artist may submit a maximum of three (3) works.
3. Submission is free of charge.
4. Works must not have received awards in any previous competition.
5. Strict AI Prohibition: Any work produced using Artificial Intelligence will be disqualified. If discovered after the fact, the award will be revoked.
6. Technique: Free (Color/Black-White, Digital/Hand-drawn).

Technical Specifications:

• Size: A4 (21 x 29.7 cm) or A3 (29.7 x 42 cm)
• Resolution: 300 dpi (Maximum 5 MB)
• Format: JPG

SECTION THREE: AWARDS

A total of 15 prizes will be awarded across different categories:

• First Prize: 40,000 TRY
• Second Prize: 35.000 TRY
• Third Prize: 30,000 TRY
• Honorable Mention (3 Awards): 15,000 TRY
• Young Artist Award (Ages 15–18, 3 Awards): 10,000 TRY
• Junior Artist Award (Ages 09–14, 3 Awards): 7,500 TRY

SECTION FOUR: SUBMISSION AND DEADLINE

Participants must send their caricatures along with the completed Identification Form (Appendix-1) and Short Biography Form (Appendix-2).
