The Intersection of Poetry and Art: Call for Entries for II BD Gallery Tour 2027- Portugal

The organizing committee of the II BD Gallery Tour 2027 has officially announced the international call for entries for its upcoming comic strip competition and exhibition tour in Portugal.

This regulation defines a specific standard for submissions, requiring the harmonious integration of visual elements and poetry. The narrative must develop through a complementary relationship where drawings express the atmosphere and emotion of the plot, while the poetry contributes to the narrative depth.

Competition Regulations and Guidelines:

• Eligibility: The competition is open to all authors over the age of 18.
• Narrative Format: Submissions must consist of a single page containing exactly four drawings.
• Text & Language: Contestants may submit individually realized comic strips with text in either Portuguese or English. The poetry may take various forms (e.g., free verse) provided it maintains coherence with the illustration.
• Technical Specifications: The required format is A4. Files must be submitted as 300 dpi JPGs.

Exhibition and Awards:

Selected works will be included in a touring exhibition across various Portuguese galleries and schools.

Three winners will be selected by the jury. The prizes consist of:

1. An official Trophy (a piece of local Portuguese handicraft).
2. An official Diploma.
3. A Digital Catalogue of the event.
